Pedersen Planning Consultants (PPC)
provided part-time zoning administration between December 1995
and March 1998 in conjunction with the preparation of a Carbon
County Land Use Plan. These services were provided to enable
the Planning Commission to administer existing County zoning and
encourage a desirable land development.
Zoning administration generally
included the review and processing of building permits, special
use permits, rezoning, and subdivision applications. Procedures
within the Department of Planning and Development were modified
by PPC to facilitate greater input from other public agencies.
PPC staff conducted onsite surveys of affected properties.
Private landowners were counseled
concerning administrative options for changes in land use, land
subdivisions, land development opportunities, utility system
concerns, and other landowner concerns.
