Project Scope:
This environmental impact
statement involved a detailed evaluation of project
alternatives and anticipated environmental consequences
resulting from the proposed expansion of the primary community
recreation area in West Hawaii. A detailed assessment was made
of existing recreational participation in West Hawaii, the
location of existing recreational opportunities, and a
determination of recreational areas where additional facility or
area capacity was available.
Specialized surveys of
archaeological resources, vehicular traffic, botanical
resources, and noise were made by various environmental
specialists. With the exception of a previously prepared
archaeology study, the work of all environmental specialists was
supervised by James Pedersen, Planning Consultant |
