NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLANNING |
|
Scope of Services The conservation of various
natural resources requires an initial inventory of existing
marine and land resources, as well as the trends and factors
influencing the sustainability of various ecosystems and
habitats. The implementation of conservation projects and
programs also requires a practical assessment of soil and
geological characteristics, hydrologic conditions, biological
trends, existing and potential land uses, the technical capacity
of local resource managers, and available financial resources. PPC
normally carries out natural resource management plans with the
assistance of scientists who have specialized experience in
marine or terrestrial biology, hydrology, physical oceanography
or other areas of relevant expertise. Spatial analysis is often
applied to these efforts to correlate various ecological
considerations.
