INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING |
|
Scope of Services Master plans for water and sewer
systems are often developed by a variety of municipal, county,
state and quasi-public agencies. PPC normally participates in
infrastructure plans as part of a larger, inter-disciplinary
project team; in some cases, however, PPC is requested to take
the lead role. The responsibility of PPC in these
infrastructure planning projects is to:
- inventory existing facilities via the application of
geographical information system (GIS) software;
- evaluate regional demographic, economic and land use
trends;
- analyze potential community growth areas;
- evaluate the location and size of existing and potential
service areas;
- calculate anticipated service demands, e.g., average and
maximum day water demands, for facilities and services;
- evaluate the capacity of existing facilities to support
anticipated service demands; and,
- examine the facility management requirements and
organizational structure necessary to carry out future
facility operations and maintenance, planning and design,
and construction management.
Experience
PPC has completed various regional infrastructure plans as both
a prime contractor and subconsultant. Our experience has
involved a wide range of infrastructure plans for public
agencies in various Pacific Island nations and U.S. territories,
as well as public agencies in the Rocky Mountain region of the
United States. Some examples of our firm’s experience can be
reviewed by clicking on the following links to more specific
